I'd been waiting for an email and yesterday morning there it was ... I've been accepted as a vendor at this year's Country Living Fair in Rhinebeck, New York!
I'd started renting space at a local antiques center just 11 months prior and thought that I, too, could take my wares on the road!
Now mind you, I am a teacher in "real life", but I do have summers! I came home, scoured craigslist ads in my local area, then moved out a little farther, then even more ... and found one a little over 4 hours from my home. I brought the idea up with my sister, the sensible one, and she told me to go for it. Three weeks after first deciding I had to have my very own Shasta, I was towing Maggie Mae back to the Hudson Valley, over the bridge and into the little village where I live.
In June 2015 I went back to the Fair and when I got home joined the Sisters on the Fly and while I haven't yet been to any of their events, I will be heading up to Rhinebeck this June and hope to get to know some of them in person!
There's a lot to do and I need to start now! Better get going on some of these projects ...
